Hyperhidrosis

Do you ever think to yourself, “why do I sweat so much?” and wonder why your antiperspirant isn’t enough to stop excessive underarm sweating?

You may be suffering from hyperhidrosis. Many of those affected by hyperhidrosis attempt to work around the issue, suffering in silence, unaware that there is an effective way of correcting it: FDA-approved BOTOX® treatment. We have helped numerous clients manage their hyperhidrosis by providing Botox injections at our medspas in Boston and the surrounding areas.

What Is Hyperhidrosis?

Men and women who experience excessive sweating and perspiration are dealing with a condition known as hyperhidrosis. The effects of this condition can make people feel embarrassed and uncomfortable in public, leading to self-esteem issues. Excessive sweating can also bring about dehydration and skin infections.

How Does Botox for Hyperhidrosis Treatment Work?

When a person’s sympathetic nervous system is working harder than it needs to, it causes the sweat glands in the underarms, feet, hands, or other areas to produce more sweat. The neurotransmitters involved in this process can be blocked by the chemical effects of BOTOX®, offering relief from those overactive sweat glands. Botox in armpits effectively works as an excessive sweating treatment, preventing overactive nerves from sending signals to the sweat glands to produce sweat and reducing the amount of sweat produced in the underarm area.

What to Expect After Your Botox Treatment for Hyperhidrosis

Most clients begin to see initial results in 2 to 4 days, with full results after about two weeks. Botox injections have been shown to reduce sweating by around 85%, although each client’s results can vary. After your first treatment, returning for refresher injections every four to six months will help maintain your results and manage your hyperhidrosis.
